A big downside to the microphone, however, is its casing. In terms of the price? It is one of the best microphones I’ve heard from a headset, and I’ve tried many. And in terms of quality? It appears to be more or less the same as far as I can tell, again, no real differences. What this means is you’re picking up less unnecessary sound from the environment, so for the solo gamer this is a big plus.
The Kotion Each G9000 actually comes with a lower sensitivity microphone than the G2000, with a difference of four decibels, however, this is actually a plus with a multi-directional microphone. Like the G2000 the microphone is positioned on the left cup on an extendable arm that rotates in a 180-degree motion, nothing really too different here. The opposite of this being a “directional microphone”, which only receives sound input from a specific direction. Multi-directional microphoneĪlso known as “omnidirectional”, it means the microphone can pick up sound from anywhere around where the microphone is placed.
I’m not sure if this has something to do with the smaller driver diameter or the slight difference in cup size and shape, but regardless the difference is very noticeable. Compared to the G2000 50mm drivers? I would say it is a big improvement. The sound quality is more than satisfactory, especially when you consider the price. This doesn’t mean it is bad, but it isn’t the best of the best in terms of sound quality.
Because the coil can only maintain a specific momentum with it being a physical moving part, it can often result in a distortion of the sound.
Dynamic drivers work by creating a magnetic field that interacts with a coil which ultimately results in the audible sound. How does it measure up, especially when compared to it’s G2000 older sibling? The G9000 uses dynamic drivers, just like the G2000, however, it comes with the difference of being a lower diameter.
Arguably the most important part of the headphone. 40mm high precision driversĭrivers are what converts the electronic signals from the device it is plugged into, into audible sound. The sleek design of the headset alone is nice, although it does look a little cheap and plasticky on closer inspection. Instead of building it all into one plug and putting the light controls build into the wire, or opting out of putting lighting on altogether, they split the cable end into two heads. Then the clunky cable end is also an issue.
But when they disrupt function that becomes a problem. Add to this it is actually somewhat painful to look directly at the light because it is so bright. The last thing anyone wants whilst playing a video game is a distraction in the corner of their eye. Any motion with the lights powered will cause shadows to jump around the room.
Although they look nice, like the G2000 the Kotion Each G9000 comes with the issue of being far too bright. The LED backlighting is built into the external sides of both the left and right earcups and is powered by its own plug on the bottom of the cable.
Coming with a compact classic PC gamer look, with LED backlighting contrasted by a sleek jet-black design that can come in both black and red, or black and blue. The Kotion Each is the older brother of the recently reviewed G2000 (which you can find here : ), and like its older sibling, it comes with a focus on gaming at a very fair price.
